Rampur Raza Library- India 



Rampur Raza Library was built as a mansion in 1904 but was converted as a library in the 1950s. This library holds in its collection the most valuable examples of Indo-Islamic manuscripts and the works of calligraphers, scholars, poets and musicians. The library contains over 17 thousand manuscripts and over 80 thousand books in Arabic, Persian, Sanskrit, Hindi and Turkish. Examples of Islamic border art and the manuscript of the first translation of the Holy Quran are also preserved in this library.

Royal Portuguese Cabinet of Reading – Brazil 



Voted the fourth most pleasant library in the world by The Times newspaper, the Royal Portuguese Cabinet of Reading, as its name suggests, has a large hall decorated in accordance with the Portuguese royal family. Stained glass windows, blue walls cut by dark wooden arches, and golden decorations on the ceiling are dazzling. Although located in Brazil, this library was named Portuguese, because it was the first Portuguese political refugee association, which was founded in 1837 by 43 Portuguese living in Brazil to promote their own culture and brought to the city.

The George Peabody Library is a library used by Johns Hopkins University’s students for their research. Since the 19th century, the library has collected more than 300,000 books. Unlike other historical libraries, the library was built using materials such as marble and cast iron, and has a more spacious and bright atmosphere, despite the often gloomy mood of the gothic style. There are also original prints of Don Quixote, one of the cults of world literature, in the library’s collection.
